Volunteer at HudsonAlpha
As a nonprofit, HudsonAlpha appreciates all donations and not just the ones that come in the form of a check. Our “Partners of Progress” are part of the team effort involved in achieving HudsonAlpha’s mission of genomic research, educational outreach and economic development.
Most volunteer opportunities happen outside the lab, where they contribute significantly to fundraising events, such as the Spring Benefit, Double Helix Dash and Tie the Ribbons luncheon. Volunteers are also a big part of the Biotech 101 and 201 series, assisting with registration for this increasingly popular lifelong learning course. Volunteers are a tremendous resource for the educational outreach team with preparation, filling binders and packing bins for teacher workshops, including Genetic Resources to Empower Alabama Teachers (GREAT) and Genetic Technologies for Alabama Classrooms (GTAC).
Volunteers at HudsonAlpha come from all backgrounds and age groups, tied together by their desire to make a difference. They may not be scientists by training, but they know that by sharing their time and talents, they can be part of the solution. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Karen Petersen at email@example.com.
